The Profi Birki PU (polyurethane) clog is suitable for a variety of professional applications. With its raised heel section, this popular clog provides the feet with all-around protection and grip. The flexible PU material features a smooth surface and is not only oil- and grease resistant, but water- and dirt-resistant, too. As a result, the Profi Birki is virtually predestined for use in kitchens and restaurants. BIRKENSTOCK also sets high safety standards in terms of sole design: the directly foamed, flexible PU sole features a deep, non-slip profile, thus offering firm grip on a wide range of surfaces.
Anyone who has to stand up for several hours at a time due to their job will appreciate the high level of comfort, which is partly down to the interchangeable and anatomically formed BIRKENSTOCK footbed with a microfiber lining. This makes the Profi Birki suitable for the wearers own personal insoles. What's more, the clog is washable at up to 80C and the polyurethane footbed at up to 60C, guaranteeing a high degree of hygiene. The Profi Birki has been certified in accordance with EN ISO 20347:2012 OB E (SRB category).

WHEN YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR FOOTWEAR
Unbuckle all the straps and place your feet in the shoes. Make sure your heels are all the way back in the heelcups. The contours of the footbed should correspond to your own arches and the toe grips should fit comfortably beneath your toes.
Before you stand up, look to see if there is about 1cm of extra space for your toes and your heels and about 5mm on each side of your feet. You'll need this extra room because your feet will expand when you stand and walk.
Buckle the straps. Support comes from the footbed, not from tightly buckled straps. A securely fastened toe strap should be enough to keep your foot firmly in the footbed. Other straps can be worn loosely.
Please be careful when buying your Birkenstocks that you get the correct length as well as width. You should have a few millimeters of space in the heel and toe areas. Your toes should not touch the cork wall at the front nor should your heel touch the back. This will improve the longevity of your Birkenstocks.
BREAKING IN YOUR BIRKENSTOCKS
Adjust to your new shoes gradually, as they may introduce new movements to the muscles in your feet and legs. Although your shoes may feel rather rigid at first, their flexibility will increase with wear. Leather straps will become more supple and the footbeds will adjust slightly to your feet.
Once your shoes have been "broken in", the footbeds will have a slight upward curve where your toes bend when you walk. You can get a head start by bending them at the toe with your hands. This will soften the footbed and make it easier to walk in your new shoes.
