Fitting Tips

  • Dr. Martens boots and shoes are measured in UK sizing. Use the table above to convert to your local size.
  • New Dr. Martens can feel stiff, this is normal. The leather upper will soften and mould to your foot shape with wear over the first few weeks.
  • If you are between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up for boots and sizing true for shoes and sandals.
  • For styles with thick soles (such as the 1460 boot), your foot sits higher inside the boot, ensure the ankle collar sits comfortably without rubbing.
  • Wear thick socks during the break-in period to help stretch the leather and protect your feet from blisters.

Measuring Your Feet

Always measure your feet wearing socks unless the style is made to be worn with bare feet. Use your largest foot to take the measurement, and if unsure, measure both and use the larger measurement.

What you'll need: A ruler or tape measure, a pen and a blank piece of paper (A4 or larger)

Place your foot on paper with heel against the wall

Place the short end of the paper against a wall. Place your largest foot on the paper with your heel against the wall, so that your heel is equal with the edge of the paper.

Mark where your longest toe ends

Without moving your foot, use the pen to mark where your longest toe ends. Step off the paper.

Measure from the edge of the paper to the line

Using your ruler or tape measure, measure from the edge of the paper to the line you have drawn. You can now use this measurement to determine your shoe size.

Tough and high-shine, Arcadia leather is two-tone by nature, with a top coat that rubs off with wear. The silhouette stays true to classic Mary Jane features – double straps, horseshoe buckles and brogue detailing on the toe – while black welt stitching and a smoke DMS outsole with classic grooving complete the shoe

  • Arcadia is a high-shine leather with a base dye and contrasting topcoat, which is rubbed off to reveal the underlying color.
  • Our Goodyear-welted lines are heat-sealed and reinforced with our signature welt stitch.
