Measuring Your Feet
Always measure your feet wearing socks unless the style is made to be worn with bare feet. Use your largest foot to take the measurement, and if unsure, measure both and use the larger measurement.
What you'll need: A ruler or tape measure, a pen and a blank piece of paper (A4 or larger)
Place the short end of the paper against a wall. Place your largest foot on the paper with your heel against the wall, so that your heel is equal with the edge of the paper.
Without moving your foot, use the pen to mark where your longest toe ends. Step off the paper.
Using your ruler or tape measure, measure from the edge of the paper to the line you have drawn. You can now use this measurement to determine your shoe size.
Crocs Sizing & Fit FAQs
What are Crocs made of?
Crocs are made from Croslite, a proprietary closed-cell resin foam developed by Crocs. It isn't plastic or rubber, and although it is often described as an EVA-style foam, the exact recipe is Crocs' own.
The closed-cell structure is what gives Crocs their character: very light, water-resistant rather than water-absorbing, odour-resistant, and cushioned underfoot. It also softens slightly with body heat, so a pair moulds a little to your foot over time.
What do the M and W sizes on Crocs mean?
Most adult Crocs are unisex and are labelled with both a men's and a women's size, for example M7/W9. They are the same shoe — just two ways of describing the same length.
If you normally wear a women's 9, look for W9. If you wear a men's 7, look for M7. Our NZ shoe size conversion chart can help if you're working from a UK or EU size.
Do Crocs run big or small?
Crocs are designed to be roomy, so they generally feel generous rather than snug. If you are between sizes, most people are happier sizing down.
The Classic Clog is meant to have a little movement in it — your foot shouldn't be locked in place. If you want a more secure fit, turn the heel strap down. Check the size chart on this page for the exact measurements, and get in touch if you're unsure.
Can Crocs get wet?
Yes. Croslite is closed-cell, so it doesn't soak up water. Crocs are fine at the beach, the pool, on the boat or in the garden, and they dry quickly.
How do I clean my Crocs?
Wash them with mild soap and cold water, then let them air dry away from direct heat.
Avoid hot water, the dryer, and leaving them in a hot car or in direct sun for long periods — heat can distort Croslite and change the fit permanently.
Do Crocs stretch over time?
Not in the way leather does. Croslite softens with body heat and will mould slightly to the shape of your foot, but it won't stretch out to fix a size that is too small. Buy the size that fits properly from the start.
What size Crocs should I buy for my child?
Measure your child's foot length and compare it to the kids' chart on this page rather than sizing by age — children's feet grow at very different rates.
Leave about a thumb's width of growing room, and always fit to the larger foot. If you'd like a hand, bring them into the store at Queenwood and we'll measure them properly.
