Quick Tips from the Experts

  • When trying on Pretty Brave baby shoes, check there is about a finger's width of wiggle room between the big toe and the end of the shoe.
  • You should be able to squeeze your pinky finger between the back of the shoe and your baby's heel. If your baby's foot falls in-between sizes, select the larger size.
  • Babies can't tell us if something is bothering them, so as with any shoes, check for signs of irritation after a day's wear.
  • Children's feet grow quickly, check your child's foot size at least every few months to make sure their shoe size hasn't changed.
  • We recommend measuring your child's foot to help determine the best size choice.

Measuring Your Child's Feet

Always measure both feet and use the larger measurement. Measure at the end of the day when feet are at their largest. For babies and toddlers, have them standing with their full weight on their foot for the most accurate measurement.

What you'll need: A ruler or tape measure, a pen and a blank piece of paper (A4 or larger)

Place your child's foot on paper with heel against the wall
1

Place the short end of the paper against a wall. Place your child's foot on the paper with their heel against the wall, so that the heel is equal with the edge of the paper.

Mark where the longest toe ends
2

Without moving their foot, use the pen to mark where the longest toe ends. Have them step off the paper.

Measure from the edge of the paper to the line
3

Using your ruler or tape measure, measure from the edge of the paper to the line in millimetres. Use this measurement with the Foot Length column in the table above to find the right size.
